Hello, friends!

We’ve been so fortunate to welcome so many new Knit Fit walkers to our community during the past year.! We greeted new knitters at the Machias Fiber Festival and the Adirondack Wool and Arts Festival. We shared our enthusiasm for Knit Fit walking at the virtual fiber fair sponsored by the New England Textile Association. We also debuted our new Knit Fit pinney with a fun Zoom “reveal” event at a recent Virtual Vogue Knitting Live.

As we look forward to the 2022, we strive to continue to grow our Knit Fit community. We will be exhibiting at NETA Spa Weekend in Freeport, Maine in February. We will continue to offer Knit Fit workshops and demos thru out the year. If you have plans to visit Acadia National Park or Mount Desert Island next summer, we would love to have you join us on our weekly Knit Fit walks. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter, so you can receive word of all the upcoming events.

As we welcome the New Year, I’m looking forward to starting a new knitting project. Choosing to begin is truly an act of faith. If you are a process knitter like me, you like to play with yarn, to imagine many possibilities or outcomes while keeping your options open. You let your hands lead and you follow. You hold the yarn and contemplate what it might become, perhaps consulting a pattern or two. You might swatch along the way or maybe just dive in and trust your instinct. You really don’t know at the onset quite what you will encounter or where you might end up.

Knit Fit walking is a similar experience. You take your yarn for a walk and see what happens. You head out and create your own adventure. You walk at a natural pace where your steps and stitches fall in sync. You perform a yarn dance connecting to your creative spirit and energizing your mood as you move.

The beginning of a new year is often a perfect time to start a new venture. Knit Fit walking is a fun way to stay active while enjoying your craft. Connect to your creative spirit and set yourself up for greatness in the New Year. Hope you will give knit/walking a try!

As always, we wish you the best of health in 2022.
