Jumping In With Both Feet

Knit Fit just participated in the first ever Virtual Vogue Knitting Live event which was held on May 10- 17th. It was a seven day virtual event kicked off with a keynote by Clara Parkes. As you may know, Clara is a fellow Maine resident who wrote “The Knitters Book of Wool”. Her most recent book is “Vanishing Fleece” available at www.claraparkes.com. Numerous online classes and lectures were offered, featuring various celebrities of the knitting world such as Kristi Glass, Mary Jane Mucklestone, Bristol Ivy and Norah Gaughan. We were thrilled to be invited to participate in the virtual marketplace as a launchpad vendor, and to share our passion for Knit Fit walking with our enthusiastic customers!

Spending time with knitters is about my favorite thing to do, so a big shout out and thank you to all who joined us! This inaugural event was such a success and the response from participants was so positive that more Virtual Vogue Live events are being planned for the near future. www.virtualvogueknittinglive.com

As we round the corner toward summer, we are all spending more time outdoors. Research shows that walking outdoors improves your body’s store of vitamin D, which helps to strengthen your immunity and improve your bone health. I keep my Knit Fit kit with my sneakers by my front door so that I am all set to go when the spirit moves me! Remember that how often you walk is more important than how long or far you walk on each outing. Be sure to walk at a pace that is comfortable and enjoyable for you. Pause and appreciate nature as you go. Take this precious time for yourself! Allow your steps and your stitches to both free your mind and clarify your thoughts.

To paraphrase Albert Einstein, “I think 99 times and find nothing. I stop thinking, and walk in silence and the truth comes to me.”

Good luck with your Knit Fit walking! I wish you all the best of health!

To be continued,

Michelle
